David Richman - Lean in and learn. Finding the purpose for change.

David Richman is an author, public speaker, philanthropist, and endurance athlete whose mission is to form more meaningful human connections through storytelling. In his book, Winning in the Middle of the Pack, he discusses how to get more out of ourselves than ever imagined. With Cycle of Lives, David shares the interconnected stories of people overcoming trauma and delves deeply into their emotional journeys with cancer.

As a former sedentary, over-weight, smoker, David knew that he needed to focus not on what others wanted out of him, but on what he wanted out of life. Through lessons learned in business and sport, he introduces the concept of the “middle of the pack” and discusses how to get more out of ourselves than ever imagined. He applies this concept to life and business and adds value to the people he works with coming from the perspective of the “middle of the pack.”

David has completed over 50 triathlons, including 15 Ironman-distance triathlons, more than 50 runs longer than marathon distance, several 24-hour runs and a 104 mile run from Santa Barbara to Manhattan Beach. Most recently he biked 4,700-miles in just six weeks to meet with the contributors to Cycle of Lives.

David is now leading transformative Expressive Writing Workshops geared towards people affected by all manner of trauma whcih combine traditional expressive writing techniques with elements of both narrative and creative writing.
